I am a Man

Why train and live the Maxfit way? You won’t fall in the trap of being what’s considered ‘normal’ (fat and weak).

At Maxfit we like to keep things simple:

Warm up: foam rolling, dynamic mobility drills, jump rope

Lift weights: basic lifts, get strong

conditioning: drag sleds, run with sandbags, carry heavy dumbells up the stairs

Repeat for 2-4 times a week.

Diet: lean protein, vegetables, carbs when needed, enjoy the weekend

Sounds nice, but what will this do for me?

You’ll be strong, healthy and in shape. You won’t make New Years resolutions because you’ll be living it every day.

When your kids challenge you for a game of football or whatever other sport you have no problem doing it without coughing up your lungs. You’ll actually be able to move because your feet will be fast from jumping rope.

You don’t have to worry about your back when carrying luggage anymore because you know how to brace your core muscles to protect your spine. Heck, you’re used to lifting weights twice as heavy so even your wife’s 30kg suitcase doesn’t bother you like it does the other guys.

When you wake up you don’t feel like crap because you have taken some time to stretch and foam roll.

When some punk snatches your wifes purse you’ll be able to chase them down with ease because you’re used to running with a sled attached to your waist. More likely they won’t even pick your wife because she’s walking next to you and you actually have some muscle on your back.

When your boss is nagging you it will no longer be an issue because you set a good PR in the deadlift the other day and you feel like nothing can bring you down.

When you go out and have some beers on Friday night you don’t have to order ‘light’ ones and count carbs because you just did 15 minutes of heavy sled sprints after lifting weights for 30 minutes and you’ve been eating clean all week.

It doesn’t take a lot to do this. You already give 8-10 hours a day to your boss and to your work. To boredom and to people and organizations that couldn’t care less about you. Then your family and friends get the rest of your time.

What about you? do you think so little of yourself that you can’t sacrifice and hour or so, 2,3 or 4 days a week just for yourself? Not to go shopping, watch TV or surf on the internet, but to invest in your body, building strength, muscle and character.

What do you think is going to do more for your body, sprinting with a weighted sled or a stroll on the treadmill?

Don’t believe the stuff people are telling you on TV, message boards and magazines. You don’t need fancy machines with magnetic resistance calculating the calories that you burn while adjusting the resistance to your joint angles.

Getting fit and strong isn’t easy, and it isn’t rocket science. All it takes is hard work and consistency.
